Since 2000, Orran has helped more than 30,000 children and elders. Statistics make the case; people make it real. Two of them, told plainly: where they started, and where they are now.

He arrived shy, holding a friend’s sleeve. He runs a kitchen of seven now.
Sargis came to Orran at twelve, brought along by a friend from his block. He was quiet at first. The pottery class drew him out, and a Junior Achievement summer camp put him in front of a stove for the first time. He decided, then, that he would cook.
Today he is head chef at a Yerevan restaurant, running a kitchen of seven. He came back to Orran once more as the guest speaker at its annual banquet, and he married Victoria, the girl he had known since he was a boy.

Manuk · came to Orran at 10

He started at a woodwork bench. He performs on stages that travel the world now.
Manuk came to Orran at ten, the child of a single-parent family. He took to the woodwork shop first, where he was the one the other children watched. In 2015, with Orran behind him, he joined a mime and dance theatre.
At twenty-four he tours internationally. He represents Armenia in “The Argonauts,” a production with the Candoco Dance Company, performing on stages far from the bench where he started.
