One skill changes one generation. For a child growing up in poverty, a coding job is the single highest-leverage escape available in Armenia, and the demand side is already built: a national AI strategy, AI in school curricula, and a tech sector growing 20% a year. The bottleneck is who gets to learn.

Real skills, in order.

This is not an app on a tablet. It is Orran’s real workshop, opened in 2024 with robotics kits and a working engineer teaching it, growing into a four-year track.

Foundations

Years 1–2

Typing, computer basics, Scratch, and the robotics kits already running in the 2024 workshop.

Building

Years 2–3

Python, microcontrollers (ESP32), web basics. Children build things their families use.

AI literacy

Years 3–4

Data literacy, how models learn, hands-on projects with real datasets, responsible use of AI. Mapped to UNESCO's AI competency framework for students.

The pipeline

Exit

Graduates continue into TUMO, Generation AI high-school tracks, university CS programs, or Orran's own apprenticeships.

Why not just fund TUMO?

TUMO is extraordinary, and our graduates feed into it. But the most vulnerable children rarely make it through any door on their own: hunger, family crisis, and distance come first. Orran is where those children already are, six days a week, fed and steady. The AI Fund is last-mile inclusion for the kids every other program misses.

Is 'AI' a buzzword here?

The curriculum is nouns: Scratch, Python, robotics kits, data literacy, responsible use of AI, aligned to UNESCO's AI competency framework for students. Children build things, they don't just prompt things.

How do I know it works?

The same way you know the rest of Orran works: 26 years of audited operations, 300+ apprenticeship graduates earning a living, and a commitment to publish this program's outcomes, cohort by cohort.
