So every Orran day begins with a hot meal. The tutors, the potters’ wheels, the psychologists, and the robotics kits come after. Not charity from above, but a second home: the same tables, six days a week, for as many years as a child needs them.

In 2024, Orran opened a computer and robotics workshop beside the potters’ wheels. The Orran AI Fund grows it into a full AI-literacy track, for the children Armenia’s tech boom would otherwise leave behind.

He came for the hot meals. He stayed for the workshops.
Manuk grew up with his mother, brother, and sister in dire conditions, and started coming to Orran at ten. The workshops came first. Then, in 2015, Orran helped him join a mime and dance theatre group. At 24 he tours the world with his company, representing Armenia on international stages.

It began with sixteen children in a rented room.
In April 2000, Armine and Raffi Hovannisian could no longer walk past the children begging on Yerevan’s streets. They rented a small space downtown and set a table. Within six months, forty children and twenty-six elders were eating there. Twenty-six years later, Orran runs two centers and has changed more than thirty thousand lives.
